This article describes how to access the Nexset Information screen for any Nexset in Nexla and explains the different types of information and associated options provided in this screen.

1. Open the Nexset Information Screen
- On the toolbar on the left side of the screen, hover over , and select .
- Click on the data flow containing the Nexset to be examined to expand the view of the flow.
- Click on the Nexset to be examined to open the Nexset Information screen.
The subsequent sections explain the types of information and options available in each part of the Nexset Information screen.
2. Nexset Name & Description
At the top of the Nexset Information screen, the name and description of the selected Nexset is displayed, along with additional information about the Nexset. This section describes how to edit the Nexset name and description from this screen and explains the additional information available in the top panel of the Nexset Information screen.
- To edit the name of the Nexset, click on the name field, and make any desired modifications. Changes will be automatically saved.
- To edit the description of the Nexset, click on the description field, and make any desired modifications. Changes will be automatically saved.
- The tile at the top of the panel indicates the source of the Nexset.
- At the bottom of this panel, Nexla displays the number of transformed Nexsets created from the selected Nexset, the number of destinations to which it has been sent, and the number of times it has been shared.
3. Overview Tab
The Overview tab provides general information about the Nexset and allows users to enter additional information about the Nexset that can aid in efficient use of the data that it contains.
- The panel on the right side of the Overview tab provides the following general information about the Nexset:
- Dataset ID – This is the ID associated with the Nexset in Nexla.
- Created On – This is the date on which the Nexset was created in Nexla.
- Detected From Source – This indicates the Nexla data source from which the Nexset was detected.
- Number of Transformed Nexsets – This indicates the number of transformed Nexsets that have been created from the selected Nexset.
- Shared with Users – This indicates the number of users with whom the Nexset has been shared.
- Writing to Destination – This indicates the destination(s) to which the selected Nexset is being written, if any.
- Dataset ID – This is the ID associated with the Nexset in Nexla.
- To create tags attached to the selected Nexset, enter the desired tags in the Tags field on the right, or select from available tags in the pulldown menu.
- To enter overview text about the Nexset, including a more detailed description, summary, and/or FAQs, click on the text field at the top of the Overview tab to open the text editor.
- After entering the appropriate information, click at the bottom right of the text field to save the changes.
- Optional: To exit the text editor without saving any changes, click at the bottom right of the text field.
- After entering the appropriate information, click at the bottom right of the text field to save the changes.
- The Schema & Samples panel displays the attributes contained in the selected Nexset, along with sample attribute values.
See Section 4 for a detailed description of the functions that are available both in this panel and in the Schema tab.
4. Schema Tab
The Schema tab displays the attributes contained in the Nexset, along with sample attribute values. It also provides the options to view the Nexset metadata and download the preview samples.
- To change the number of sample attribute values shown and select whether to view live or cached samples, use the pulldown menu indicated below:
- To select whether to view samples in row or JSON format, use the pulldown menu indicated below.
- To refresh the samples shown, click the button to the right of the sample view pulldown menus.
- To download the samples shown, click the button to the right of the sample view pulldown menus.
- To view the metadata contained in the selected Nexset, check the box next to . The Nexset metadata attributes will be shown at the top of the attributes list.
- Hover over a listed Nexset attribute and click the icon that appears to the left to open an information screen for that attribute.
- To add a description to the attribute, click on below the attribute name, and enter the descriptive text.
The descriptive text will be added to the selected Nexset as an Annotations rule group.
- Sample values of the selected attribute are also shown in the attribute information screen.
- Nexset rules that affect the selected attribute are shown in the Relevant Rules For This Attribute panel.
- To add a description to the attribute, click on below the attribute name, and enter the descriptive text.
5. Nexset Rules Tab
The Nexset Rules tab displays all transform rules, validations, default values, record filters, and/or annotations applied to the selected Nexset.
- The information in the Nexset Rules tab can be used for troubleshooting errors in data, to confirm that the correct rules have been applied to the Nexset, as a reference when creating additional Nexsets, and in other applications.
6. Stats Tab
In the Stats tab, users can view various statistics about the selected Nexset.
- The panel at the top of the Stats tab provides general data statistics about the selected Nexset.
- Data Volume - This is the total volume of data contained in the selected Nexset.
- Total Records - This is the total number of records contained in the selected Nexset.
- Last Processed Data On - For detected and live Nexsets, this indicates the most recent date and time when Nexla checked for and processed any new data.
- Data Volume - This is the total volume of data contained in the selected Nexset.
- The lower panel in the Stats tab provides numerical information about the data records and data volume processed for the selected Nexset over time, as well as data errors.
- All of the information provided in this panel can be viewed covering the last 7 days or last 30 days by selecting the corresponding option from the pulldown menu indicated below.
- To view a graph of the total data record count contained in the selected Nexset by date, select the button on the right.
- To view a graph of the total data volume (shown in bytes) of the selected Nexset by date, select the button on the right.
- To view a graph of the total number of data errors in the selected Nexset by date, select the button on the right.
- All of the information provided in this panel can be viewed covering the last 7 days or last 30 days by selecting the corresponding option from the pulldown menu indicated below.
7. Notifications Tab
The Notifications tab displays notifications about platform activity, system alerts, and data alerts related to the selected Nexset. It also provides a link to access notifications settings for the Nexset.
- When is selected at the top of the Notifications tab, all notifications related to the selected Nexset will be displayed. New notifications are displayed with a blue background.
- To choose whether the listed notifications are displayed in the order of most recent first or oldest first, select the corresponding option from the Sort By pulldown menu on the left.
- To change the number of notifications shown on each page, select the desired option from the Items Per Page pulldown menu on the right.
- To mark a notification as read, click the button on the right side of that notification. Notifications marked as read are shown with a white background.
- To remove a notification from the list, click the button on that notification.
- To refresh the list of notifications, click the button in the top right corner of the notifications list.
- To choose whether the listed notifications are displayed in the order of most recent first or oldest first, select the corresponding option from the Sort By pulldown menu on the left.
- To access notification settings, select at the top of the Notifications tab.
- Click to access the Notification Management screen, where account-wide notification settings can be configured.

8. Activity Tab
The Activity tab displays all creation, modification, and activation actions that have occurred for the selected Nexset.
- The information displayed in the Activity tab includes the date and time at which the actions occurred and the Nexla user(s) who performed the actions.
- To view additional details about a listed action, click the button to the right of that action.
9. Error Data Tab
The Error Data tab displays any data-processing errors that have occurred for the selected Nexset.
- When is selected at the top of the Error Data tab, any record-processing errors that have occurred within the most recent 72 hours will be listed below.
- When is selected at the top of the Error Data tab, any error reports that have been exported for the selected Nexset will be displayed below.
Exported errors will only be displayed if automatic error data exporting has been set up for the associated Nexla account.
- To change the order in which exported errors are shown, select an option from the Sort By pulldown menu on the left.
- To change the number of errors shown on each page in this view, use the Items Per Page pulldown menu on the right.
- To view and/or configure error data export settings in Nexla, click to open the Error Data Export settings screen.
- To change the order in which exported errors are shown, select an option from the Sort By pulldown menu on the left.
10. Share Tab
The Share tab displays access management information about the selected Nexset and provides sharing options.
- The selected Nexset can be shared with another user, a team, the entire organization, or an email or email group from the Share tab.
- Use the pulldown menu at the top left of the Share screen to select the user, group, or email address with whom the Nexset should be shared.
- Click the button to provide the selected user(s) with access to the Nexset.
- Use the pulldown menu at the top left of the Share screen to select the user, group, or email address with whom the Nexset should be shared.
- All users, groups, and/or emails with whom the selected Nexset is currently shared are listed in the Share tab.
- To remove access to the selected Nexset from a user, group, or email with whom it has been shared, click the icon to the right of that user, group, or email.
- To remove access to the selected Nexset from a user, group, or email with whom it has been shared, click the icon to the right of that user, group, or email.
